A Brief History…

In 1919 Sir Villiers Forster and Lady Forster proposed and later built the Memorial Hall to help serve the local community.

In January 1920 Longdon Club & Institute was formed and have been residents of the Memorial Hall ever since.

Along with Longdon Club & Institute the Memorial Hall has also hosted W.I. meetings, a pre-school and even to feed school children hot food during the General Strike.

Today, it’s know as The Longdon Club and has been renovated in 2021 to include a modern bar, special event nights, sport events such as live football and cricket plus weekly bingo and music nights.

Venue Hire

The club can be made available, free to members, for functions such as parties, birthdays, weddings, christenings, wakes and anything else. See venue hire for more information
